Check whether the silicone operating valve is clear, correctly positioned in the lid of the pressure cooker and whether it springs (2) . If the operating valve is clogged, remove and clean it under running water. If the valve does not spring or is otherwise damaged, replace it with a new silicone operating valve. IMPORTANT NOTICE Replace the silicone operating valve with a new one after every 50 cooking cycles or at least once annually. Lock against accidental opening / safety valve Press on the centre of the safety valve to make sure that it springs (3) . If it does not spring, press on its centre, flush it under running water and check that it springs. Notice: Check whether the nut of the safety valve is tightened well before each use. If the nut is loose, tighten it. Steam release valve Pull the valve to check whether it springs (4) . If it does not spring, flush it under running water and check that it springs. INSPECT THE VALVES AND THE LOCK BEFORE EACH USE. IF THE PROBLEM CANNOT BE RESOLVED USING THE ABOVE PROCEDURES, DO NOT USE THE PRESSURE COOKER AND CONTACT A TESCOMA SERVICE CENTRE. Filling the pressure cooker NEVER COOK WITHOUT WATER IN THE PRESSURE COOKER – THE MINIMUM AMOUNT OF WATER IS 250 ML. For safety reasons, the pressure cooker must be filled to a maximum of 2/3 vessel capacity. With food that tends to froth or swell when heated, such as soup, legumes and rice, fill the pressure cooker to a maximum of 1/4 vessel capacity to avoid clogging of the valves (5) . Closing the pressure cooker Place the lid of the pressure cooker onto the vessel so that the ‘pressure cooker closed’ mark on the lid is aligned with the ‘pressure cooker closed’ mark on the lower handle (6) . Rotate the upper part of the handle clockwise until the two handles are aligned and the button for removing the lid moves back to the original position (7) .
