“There cannot be good living where there is no good drinking.” - Benjamin Franklin - Milan A cocktail in...

WANDERLUST

The origin of the word “ aperitivo ” tells us about a moderately alcoholic drink, just enough to make you hungry and foretaste the meal that will follow, this is why Happy Hour is literally and definitely happy for Italians to enjoy. In Italy, that moment is rarely associated to discounts on beverages, but rather paired with a rich buffet that could easily replace dinner. A variety of food is offered, from salted nibbles to cheese, mini omelettes, and a selection of finger food which does not require cutlery. A big city like Milan offers a huge variety of locations to choose from, but the new trend is to offer aperitifs inside museums... or castles, galleries, foundations and the like: opening doors to offer drinks is a smart way of having people getting more interested in culture. I assure you that even if you do not have time for a quick visit, the atmosphere of art and culture permeating the venue is just enough for you to enjoy the moment.

THE RECIPE ingredients ... and what to nibble on with it: Olive meatballs • 200 g minced meat • 150 g stoned green olives • 1 egg • grated Parmesan to taste • breadcrumbs to taste • groundnut oil for frying • salt and pepper to taste Shred the minced beef with olives. Add the egg and Parmesan cheese, season with salt and pepper to taste. Process the mixture in the shape of balls, using water to keep your hands wet so to shape them more easily. Crumb the meatballs with breadcrumbs then fry in abundant groundnut oil until golden brown and serve hot.

The mainstream cocktail... Definitely Spritz. The official recipe was registered in 2011 at the International Barman Association and it requires 6 cl prosecco, 4 cl Aperol, and

soda or seltz to taste, ice cubes, and a slice of orange as a garnish.
