Homemade waffles For 8 waffles: 200 g medium ground flour, 240 ml milk, 2 eggs, 15 ml oil, 10 g vanilla sugar, 10 g icing sugar, 6 g baking powder, pinch of salt Recipe: Mix all the ingredients in a bowl, process into a smooth batter and leave the dough to rest in the refrigerator for one hour. Apply a thin layer of cooking oil or butter onto the heated toasting plates for waffles and then pour in an even layer of batter so that the protrusions inside the plates are entirely covered by the batter but the batter does not reach the outer rims of the plate. Close the sandwich maker and cook the waffles for 10 to 12 minutes. Serve sprinkled with sugar, with fresh fruit or jam, chocolate spread etc., or topped with maple syrup. Grilled panini with ham, mozzarella, tomato and basil For 1 panini: 1 baguette about the length of the sandwich maker, 50 g cured pork ham, 100 g mozzarella, 1 tomato, basil leaves, dressing made with olive oil, balsamic vinegar and minced garlic, salt and pepper Recipe: Whip two parts olive oil and one part vinegar and a little minced garlic into a dressing and season it with salt and pepper. Spread layers of ham, mozzarella, tomato and basil leaves onto the bottom half of the baguette cut lengthwise, then drizzle with the dressing and season with salt and pepper to taste. Depending on the height of the bread, close the lid or just press it down briefly (for approx. 30 seconds), then leave the lid on the pressed bread. Grill panini for approx. 5 minutes.
