Cleaning the opening with seal for fastening the lever Switch off the coffee machine and remove from it the water reservoir. If needed, use a paper napkin to remove any residues of spent coffee from the opening with seal for fastening the lever 16 . Cleaning the steam nozzle After preparing milk froth, remove the collar from the steam nozzle 17 . Thoroughly wipe the nozzle using a moist cloth and dry it, thoroughly wash the collar under running water, dry and set back into place. Notice: The steam nozzle and collar are very hot in use. Always handle the steam nozzle using the safety grip, leave the nozzle and the collar to cool down before cleaning. Cleaning the coffee machine Clean the drip grid and dish under running water; they are dishwasher safe. Clean the water reservoir using normal cleaning agents under running water and dry, do not wash in dishwasher. Clean the warmer and the other stainless steel and plastic surfaces using a moist cloth and dry. Do not wash the coffee machine under running water or in dishwasher. Storage and maintenance If you do not use the coffeemachine, store it with the water reservoir clean and empty. If the coffeemachine does not work properly, proceed following the instructions in the next section. Quick troubleshooting Coffee flowing out of the top of the lever. - There is too much coffee in the filter or the coffee is too tightly packed. Repeat the process of dosing and preparing coffee. - Coffee in the filter is too finely ground. Use coffee ground to a degree suitable for preparing espresso. -There are residues of spent coffee on the seal in the opening for lever attachment. Clean the openingwith seal for lever attachment. - The seal in the opening for lever attachment is defunct due to prolonged use. Contact a TESCOMA service centre. The pressure pump produces unusual sounds. - There is no water in the reservoir. Add water to the reservoir. - The water reservoir is placed wrongly in the coffee machine. Check the reservoir and place it correctly in the coffee machine. The coffee prepared is not hot enough. - The coffee machine was not heated to the operating temperature before starting coffee preparation. Repeat the process of switching on the coffee machine, dosing and preparing coffee. The coffee prepared is too dark. - Too much coffee has been placed in the filter or the coffee is too tightly packed. Repeat the process of dosing and preparing coffee. - The metal strainer in the coffee maker lever is clogged. Clean the strainer by thoroughly rinsing it or using a brush. - Scale has formed on the parts inside the coffee machine. Decalcify the coffee machine. The coffee prepared is too weak. - There is too little coffee in the filter, the coffee in the filter is not sufficiently packed or too coarsely ground coffee has been used. Use coffee ground to a degree suitable for preparing espresso and repeat the process of dosing and preparing coffee. The lever with the filter inserted cannot be fastened in the coffee machine. - Too much coffee is placed inside the filter. Repeat the coffee dosing process. - The lever has been inserted into the opening in the coffee machine under a wrong angle. Insert the lever again under the correct angle. - The lever or the opening for inserting the lever is damaged. Contact a TESCOMA Service Centre. No steam flows out of the steam nozzle. - The nozzle and its collar have not been properly cleaned. Clean the collar and nozzle; clean the nozzle orifice with a narrow brush if it is clogged. Decalcify the steam nozzle of the coffee machine if needed.
