Use the appliance only on a flat working surface that is resistant to heat generated in cooking. Do not place a heated pressure cooker onto tables with wooden surfaces, do not move the appliance while operating. The appliance is intended for household use only; do not use it outdoors. Keep the appliance away from sources of heat, direct sunlight, humidity (never immerse it into any liquid) and sharp edges. Do not touch the appliance with wet hands in use. If the appliance is humid or wet, immediately unplug it from the mains. Do not let the power cord hang over the edge of a counter. Do not use the appliance with an extension cord. The appliance has a plug with earthing (protection class I). Do not leave the pressure cooker unattended during the cooking process and do not use it for any other purposes than cooking food. Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children under 8 years of age. Children may not play with the appliance. This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and if they understand the hazards involved. Appliances can be used by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Do not place the appliance near dishcloths, fabric, paper or other material that may ignite or block the vents. Ensure sufficient ventilation and place the appliance 15 cm from walls in all directions. Check before use that the lid, the removable cooking pot and the power cord are not damaged. Check before use that the operating valve, the lock against accidental opening and the lid closure lock have not become clogged or blocked. Do not use the pressure cooker if you observe any damage or defects. Always use the removable cooking pot for cooking. To avoid damage, prevent the ingress of liquids and do not place ingredients into the appliance without the removable cooking pot inserted. It is very important that there is liquid in the removable cooking pot during cooking. When the pressure cooker is overheated, do not remove the removable cooking pot from the pressure cooker vessel; immediately switch off the appliance and leave to cool down. The outer surface of the appliance is designed in such a way as to avoid its overheating; some parts of the electric pressure cooker such as the lid and the steam release openings may become heated in use. Always hold the appliance by the handles on the sides. The total amount of precooked food and liquids in the removable cooking pot may not exceed two thirds of the total volume. If you cook food that swells such as rice, beans or dried vegetables, fill the cooking pot only up to one half of its volume. Overfilling may cause the steam release valve to become clogged. Do not place meals wrapped in fabric, paper or plastic materials into the pressure cooker. Never pierce food that tends to expand in volume such as meat with skin, beef tongue, etc. while the skin is enlarged – risk of scalding. Before cooking with a pressure programme, the lid must be properly set on and secured against being released. Do not use the pressure cooker for frying with the lid on. The steam release valve may never be covered in use – risk of serious accidents resulting from overpressure or overheating. Be very careful when removing the lid. Do not open the pressure cooker until it has cooled down and the pressure inside the vessel has been released. If the lock against accidental opening stays in the upper position or the lid rotates with difficulty, the pressure cooker is still under pressure and may not be opened forcibly. Do not lift and carry the pressure cooker using the lid handle, always use the handles on the sides for this purpose. To avoid wearing or scratching of the removable cooking pot, use exclusively wooden or plastic ladles and cooking spoons. When disconnecting the appliance, press the Cancel button and then remove the plug from the electric socket, pulling the plug and not the cable. Then consult the “List of error messages” section of these Instructions for use. Use only approved spare parts and acces sories. Using other parts may result in a damaged appliance or serious injuries.
